A 2008 first-round pick of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Arizona State star was directly or indirectly involved in the trades of Matt Holliday, Roy Halladay and Roy Oswalt before landing in Houston.

Early comparisons to Lance Berkman didn't help the lefty hitter who struggled through four partial seasons with the Astros as they rushed him to the majors after Berkman's 2010 trade. He batted .242 with 29 homers and 102 RBIs in 311 games.

Released by the Astros before the 2014 campaign, Wallace kicked around with the Orioles and Blue Jays before resurfacing with San Diego in 2016 for his final two big league seasons. Overall, he was a .238 hitter with 40 homers.
