A product of the Venezuelan academy, Rodríguez was a highly-regarded prospect coming up through the minors but the injury bug bit him in just his second game in the majors and he never returned. He has an 0-0 record in three innings in 2001 to show for his big league mark. After two years on the mend, he tried a comeback with the Cubs, Expos and Rangers but to no avail.
