A Texas Aggie and native of San Antonio, Raley had pitched for the Cubs and Reds before he was acquired in a trade for a player to be named. The lefthander made 17 appearances and notched an 0-1 record with a 3.94 ERA and his first big league save.

Raley made six more appearances in the playoffs, posting an 0-1 mark with a 3.18 ERA in 5-2/3rd innings. The Astros hold an option to retain him for 2021.
