Signed to a two-year deal prior to the 2017 season, Morton made 25 starts in his first season as an Astro, establishing career highs in wins, strikeouts, and batting average against. The hard-throwing righthander made four postseason starts but may be best remembered for his lone relief appearance in which he secured the final 12 outs of Houston's win over the Dodgers in Game 7 of the World Series.

Morton made his first All-Star team in 2018 as he pitched to a 15-3 record with a 3.13 ERA. Allowed to leave in free agency after hinting he might retire, the New Jersey native signed with Tampa Bay and went 16-6 with a 3.05 ERA while returning again to the All-Star team.

A veteran of the Braves, Pirates and Phillies, Charlie has a career mark of 91-87 with a 4.07 ERA through 12 big league seasons.
