A veteran lefthander, Miley was signed to a one-year contract in 2019 to replace Dallas Keuchel in the Houston rotation. For five months, it looked like another steal. Miley was 13-4 through the month of August before the wheels came off in September when he went 1-2 with a horrid 16.68 ERA, failing to get out of the first inning twice.

He pitched once in the postseason, allowing three runs in 2-2/3rd innings against Tampa Bay. After that, he was left off the roster in the final two rounds.

The Hammond, LA, native was allowed to leave in free agency and has signed with Cincinnati for the 2020 season. Over his first nine years, including stints with Arizona, Boston, Seattle, Baltimore and Milwaukee, Miley has posted an 85-82 career mark with a 4.23 ERA.
