A Cypress Ranch High School and Texas A&M product, the righthander was a second round choice in the 2017 draft. Martin began the 2019 season in the Astros' starting rotation and pitched five games with a 1-1 record and a 5.59 ERA. He was sidelined by an elbow problem requiring Tommy John surgery. Martin was then dealt to Arizona in the trade deadline swap that brought Zack Greinke to Houston.
