Once part of a trio of Canadian-born relievers in the Astros' bullpen (along with Claude Raymond and Ron Taylor), the lefty from Gore Bay, ON made Houston his last stop in a six-year tour of the National League that included stops with the Braves, Mets, Cardinals and Giants.

During his one year in Houston, MacKenzie was 0-3 with a 3.89 ERA in 21 games. For his career, he was 8-10 with a 4.80 ERA.
