An incredible athlete, the native of Los Angeles first came up with the hometown Dodgers at the age of 18 in 1964. At 22, he became a regular. The swift outfielder played with the Dodgers in the 1965 and 1974 World Series.

He was traded to St. Louis in 1976 and was acquired by the Astros from San Francisco in 1977 for infielder Rob Andrews. Crawford hit .254 with two homers for Houston before he was dealt in mid-season to Oakland for outfielder Denny Walling.

Crawford passed away on August 27, 2004 in Knoxville, TN of liver disease.
