Signed by the Astros in 1967, Busse had brief call-ups with the Astros in 1971 and 1973. He was sent to St. Louis in the deal that brought Skip Jutze to Houston but was back with the Astros by mid-season. Overall, he hit .153 in parts of three seasons.
