A lefthanded reliever who had pitched with the White Sox and Twins, Agosto came to Houston for the 1987 season and stayed for four years. He made a league-high 82 appearances in 1990.

The Puerto Rican native posted a 24-16 record with a 3.18 ERA while an Astro, including ten consecutive wins in 1988.

After a couple of years with St. Louis and Seattle, Agosto returned to Houston for six games in 1993 to end his big league career.
