A star with the minor league Houston Buffs in the 1950s, Browne finally got his chance to play in the big leagues at age 33 with the expansion Colt .45s. In 65 games, he hit .210 with one homer - mostly as a pinch-hitter. Prentice Almont "Pidge" Browne passed away on June 3, 1997 in Houston. |
