That's a nice way to start a road trip.
Roy Oswalt totally shut down San Diego on Monday night, dealing a two-hit, 3-1 complete-game victory that evened his record at 4-4 and put the Astros at .500 on the road this year (17-17). Oswalt's 110-pitch effort earned him his 133rd win in an Astros uniform.
The only run against Roy came on a wild pitch in the fourth inning. Houston didn't do much on offense either. Ivan Rodriguez' solo blast in the fifth tied the game. Three straight singles plated Miguel Tejada in the sixth for the go-ahead run then Geoff Blum added a sacrifice fly to score Lance Berkman with an insurance run. Berkman and Carlos Lee had two hits each while Oswalt helped himself with a pair of singles.
Mike Hampton (4-5) comes off the Disabled List to get the ball on Tuesday night in a 9:05 Central start. Josh Banks (0-0) will make his first start of the year for the Padres.
